Life is a bitch?

This statement intrigues me.

Why is life called a Bitch?

Why not rather a it?

Or why is it referred to as a woman?

why is it referred to as anything?

Is life not a gift?

A present.

we don't refer to our shoes we get as presents as a he or a she?

Or refer to our new CD as a he or a she.

 

This confuses me

 

Could life be a woman?

Could it be referred to as a woman because your mother gave birth to you?

If life is a bitch, what does that make the life of a man?

 

I need clarity on this...
